Your Dental Hygienist will work with you to determine your care plan and help you maintain proper oral health. Dental Hygienists provide a range of personalized care. Only regulated health care professionals may provide dental hygiene services.
Are Dental Hygienists Allowed to Work Without a Dentist?
Yes, you now have a choice. In 2007 the Ontario Government passed bill 171 allowing self-initiated Dental Hygienists to practice in alternative settings giving you direct access to dental hygiene services without having to see a dentist.
Do I Still Need to See a Dentist?
Assessments are done at each of your dental hygiene visits. Your dental hygienist will be able to provide you with any appropriate referrals. We work closely with a network of health care professionals; dentists, oral surgeons, periodontists, orthodontists and tmj physiotherapists.
Do you Treat Children?
Absolutely, we recommend that children have their first visit around the age of three.
